This is the second post in the “You Are a Child of God” series.
Recently, I was reminded again how faithful and loving our father God is. There are so many bible verses about the love of God and His faithfulness. God is love. God is faithful. It’s a biblical truth. But God chose to remind me of this through tiny details of my life.
The bible says in Job 33:14 that: “God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it”. One of the ways I have experienced God speaking to me is in dreams. Multiple times in my life, I saw in my dreams things that would come to happen later. At the beginning, I would realize it only when they happened that God had shared with me what was ahead or what he was going to do in my life or in a loved one’s. But overtime, I learned to tell the difference between a simple dream from a message from God. And it doesn’t need to be very important. It can be about details.
For two nights in a row, I had two totally different dreams which spoke to me about really random matters in my life. The first dream was about someone I hadn’t heard from in a while and in that dream, someone was telling me that I should call that person more often. I called the person the next day, we had a good chat and that was it. The following night, I had another dream so random that you would hardly believe that it carries any message from God. But I have no doubt the dream was from him. It was about something I had purchased a few days before and I hadn’t used it yet because there was just no urgent need for that. In that dream, I was using that item. Just that. Weird ? Not at all.
Those two dreams carried a very important message for me in regard of what I am going through right now in my life, and I’d like to share it with you because it’s for you as well. God is telling you :
“There’s nothing in your life that doesn’t matter to me”: your joy, your sadness, your successes, your failures, your worries, your feelings, your doubts, your fears, your clothing, your sleep, your food habits, your relations, your dreams, … Everything matters to him, even what seems insignificant to our eyes. So, that situation that bothers you, that problem you don’t know how to solve, that mountain you are facing, he knows and he cares. Don’t worry. Just “cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you”. I Peter 5:7.
In those two dreams I had, God wasn’t telling me that I am awful because I hadn’t checked on a loved one for long, or that I need to use the item I kept unused since I had recently purchased it. He was only telling me that even those small things, he sees them, and I don’t need to spend sleepless nights figuring out how to get out of trouble because he has the answer I need and he will be with me in any situation that I will have to go through. I just need to run to him, hear and receive what he has for me regarding that situation. I just need to “be still and know that he is God.” Psalm 46:10.
Prayer: Father God, forgive me for being so forgetful! I know you love me and you care for me, but why do I worry that much ? Why do I waste my energy and my time searching for answers at the wrong place ? Please forgive me for all the times I have taken your place and thought that I would come up with any good idea or solution apart from you. Help me to run to you for everything, Lord. Cause, without you, I can do nothing and all my efforts would be unproductive. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
