You are uniquely made by His hands.

This is the third post in the “You Are a Child of God” series.

As I mentioned two weeks ago, God has been lovingly teaching me what it means to be a child of God, and this has helped me to be closer to God tremendously as I am learning and owning my identity in God. If you haven’t, click here to read the first post of this series. God started to show me who He is first, for me to understand who I am. As a mother, I can say that everything in my kids’ life matters to me. I want to know every detail about their days, and how they are feeling emotionally. I want them to be close to me even in their adulthood so that in their struggles they come to their mom looking for a shoulder to cry on or a person to ask for advice. Sometimes when they are sick, I find myself thinking “Oh my God, I would love to feel their pain right now to be able to share every little thing they go through in their lives”. Likewise, your life matter to God more than everything in a kid’s life can matter to a mother or a parent. Jesus knows even the level of pain you are going through, and every little thing in our lives like Bella said here.

Many of us are familiar with the story of God’s creation. After creating heavens and earth, light, land, and seas, all the animals, and all the breathtaking things we see in the world, God said

“Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image. Genesis 1: 26-27

That verse shows that we were not only beautifully created in the image of the King of Kings himself but we were also given the power to rule over everything in this world, including the devil, as he is the ruler of this world as John 16:10 says it well. I am always excited to say, declare, and announce loudly that THE DEVIL IS A LIAR! The shame, the condemnation, the guilt, the low self-esteem, and the list goes on, you feel are all lies from the devil because he knows who You are and the one who is in you. He is trying everything he can to discourage you and make you feel defeated but I am here today to tell you that you are certainly NOT! You only need to realize the significance and the power that comes with knowing who you are in Christ, and every little thing will fall into place as you will use the advantages and privileges that come with that identity.

Ephesians 2:10 says that we are God’s masterpiece. I made some research about the word “masterpiece” and I found out it means a work of outstanding artistry, done with extraordinary skills. A masterpiece is one of a kind; no duplicates are possible! We are called God’s unique workmanship, uniquely made by his hands (Psalm 139:14; Ephesians 2:10). This is really life-changing for me because I need to make sure I am living this life as a masterpiece, and make certain that I treat each and every person I encounter as God’s masterpiece too as this will help me to treat them well.

Today’s question is do you believe that you are God’s masterpiece? Do you take authority and call out the devil’s actions in your life as a child of God? Do you believe that you are valuable and that your Father is the one who created every single thing you see in this world? even those that have not been discovered yet? I pray that God gives us the ability to grasp how wide and long and high and deep His love is for us (Ephesians 3:18) as I believe this is the only way we can truly know our value and, by abiding in Him and rooted in His presence, we will know our identity and live by it.

Prayer: Father, I praise you for you are High and Mighty. I praise you for loving me more than my human knowledge can understand. I thank you for creating me in your beautiful image and making me your own daughter/son. Help me to grasp and own my identity in Christ and use it to stand strong and fight the devil. Father I love You and may everything in me glorify You today and always, In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
