God never wanted a complicated life for us. Let’s even watch from the creation! God had given Adam and Eve everything they needed. They were in abundance and had no worries about tomorrow. They were in perfect fellowship with God before the fall. Everything was perfect.
Sometimes I try to imagine how mankind would have evolved if sin had not entered the world! The earth would be what it is today minus the decadence in progress, but rather better than at creation because God had given Adam and Eve the order to subject it. And had it not been for sin, we would have subjugated the earth without destroying it. We would not talk about pollution, global warming or natural disasters because all of these are the result of the action of fallen humanity. Without sin, humanity would have evolved healthily and surely. Today we would have all the progress we see, but not the setbacks and perverse effects. Imagine the screens without the possibility of addiction, but only to serve us without enslaving us. The Internet would be there to spread knowledge, science, information, but there would be no place for sexual predators, pornography, slander, hatred or debauchery. In short, everything would be perfect. It is even difficult to conceive of such a world because it looks nothing like what we know.
But the reality is what it is. Since the fall, good and evil coexist in the world, and we are used to it. Very few people consider themselves happy, everyone is looking for happiness. Everyone is looking for the key to success. But God never intended things to be complicated for us. With sin, confusion entered the world. We don’t want to believe that things can be easy. Like Eve, we believe that God is hiding something from us and we run here and there to find what. Now, God has given us the secret:
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8.
It is as simple as that! Who wants to try the recipe with me? It’s not magic. Our health is based on what we feed ourselves with and so is it with our spiritual life. The more we eat the word, the more it nourishes us and that in all aspects of our lives. The word of God is the source of life. It transforms us, it gives us intelligence and wisdom, we make informed decisions, our projects are under the protection of the word, and success is only a normal result. But because it differs from what we see around us, from the education we receive and the culture of the world today, we tell ourselves that things cannot be that simple. From an early age, life shows us a different path and instills a different mentality in us. That is why God tells us in Romans 12:2: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of the mind …”
Beloved, God has so much in store for us! But we can only access it by going deep into the word, studying it, and applying it in our lives. God tells us in Colossians 3:16 : Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Because he knows that’s the key to everything.
So do you want to be successful? Do you want success for your projects? Feed your self with the Word. Meditate on it day and night. Let the Word be in all you do.
Prayer: Lord, help us believe in your word that we may let it guide our lives in all the details. Let us experience success from putting it at the center of all we do. In Jesus name, Amen.
