I was recently reminded of how crucial it is to be bold in sharing the good news of Christ with everyone around us especially those who are visibly struggling whether emotionally or physically. I also was reminded that nothing is a coincidence especially if you are Christ’s believer as everything happens first in the spiritual realm and then is manifested in the physical realm. The book of Job illustrates this when the devil had to ask God’s permission to attack Job (Job 1:6-22). This means that without God’s permission, nothing would have happened to Job.
When we see someone struggling, our first response as believers should be to pray for them. Ask God to heal them and to bring them closer to Him. Perhaps God placed them in your path for you to minister to them. You might be their only chance to receive Christ and inherit eternal life. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:20, “We are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.”
My son, pay attention to what I say;
turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to one’s whole body. Proverbs 4:20-22
As humans, we often get caught up in our daily routines and fail to notice those around us who are in desperate need of salvation. It’s time to be alert and sober-minded because the enemy is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Everyone, whether they seem good or not in our eyes, needs Christ to gain eternal life and live joyfully on Earth. Let’s share the good news with them because it brings life and health to those who find it. What a blessing!
God is so good and provides for all our needs. As Christ’s believers, we lack nothing (Psalm 23:1). We are children of the King of kings, how would we lack anything!?. Everything belongs to the Lord our God. The heavens, even the highest heavens, belong to him. The earth and everything on it belong to him. (Deuteronomy 10: 14-17). He provides us with rest and security (Psalm 23:2), and He refreshes our souls (Psalm 23:3) who else would reach your soul other than the Almighty!? Everything is done for His name’s sake. The reason you were born into your family, married into your family, attend your school, and work at your job is for His name’s sake. You are there for a purpose.
Each of us has a specific goal God has placed in our lives, but our main purpose as Christ’s believers is to make Him known. Jesus commanded His disciples to spread the good news after He rose from the dead. We know Him today because someone obeyed God and shared the good news with us. Let’s obey Him by sharing the good news with others and living by this principle God has revealed to me: “Obey Him, love and enjoy Him, and make Him known.” And we are not doing this alone, as He promised to always be with us to the very end of the age.
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20
Prayer: Father God, grant me the boldness to share your goodness with those around me. Help me to not keep the grace of knowing You for myself but contribute in Your Kingdom as You commanded us to, by making disciples. You died for all of us and are eager to save everyone by giving them eternal life. God I love you and praise You for this reminder. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
